Batavia, IL – The Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry and Clothes Closet will officially open its new, permanent home on Friday, Nov. 21, with a Ribbon Cutting and Open House from 3 to 7 p.m. at 916 First St. in Batavia.

According to the City of Batavia, the ribbon cutting will take place at 3 p.m. with Congresswoman Lauren Underwood in attendance to help celebrate the grand opening. The public is invited to tour the new facility and enjoy refreshments throughout the afternoon.

The new 14,000-square-foot building, funded by a $3 million Community Project Funding Grant, provides expanded shopping, storage, and office space designed to improve service for local families in need.

Guests are encouraged to “pack the pantry” for the holiday season by bringing shelf-stable food donations or gently used Batavia spirit wear to contribute. Limited parking will be available on-site, with additional spaces on the 900 block of W. Wilson St.

City officials say the new facility represents a major step forward in supporting local residents through collaborative, community-driven action.
