Baltimore, MD – Rain and windy conditions are expected to impact central Maryland Wednesday into the evening, followed by colder temperatures leading into the weekend. Baltimore-area commuters should plan for slick roads and occasional gusty winds as showers continue eastward.

According to the National Weather Service, rain is expected to begin intensifying late Wednesday afternoon, becoming widespread before tapering off by early Thursday morning. Highs will hover around 53 degrees today before dropping to 39 degrees overnight. Southeast winds will shift northwest, gusting up to 15 mph in the evening. Rainfall amounts are expected to remain light but could create slippery conditions on major roadways, including Interstate 95 and surrounding routes during the evening commute.

Thursday will bring calmer conditions, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 47 degrees. However, temperatures will dip to 34 degrees overnight with increasing clouds, signaling the arrival of another weather system by early Friday. A mix of rain and snow showers is likely Friday morning, with a 20% chance of precipitation lingering through midday.

Residents should prepare for a drier and colder weekend. Saturday looks mostly sunny, with a high near 39 degrees and nighttime lows plunging to 23 degrees. Clear skies continue into Sunday, with sunny conditions and a high near 31 degrees.

Drivers are encouraged to stay alert for changing road conditions, particularly during Friday morning’s potential rain-snow mix. Keep tuned to local forecasts for real-time updates as the weekend approaches.
