Baltimore, MD – Chilly conditions will continue across Maryland this weekend, with highs barely reaching 40 degrees on Saturday. Overnight lows will dip into the 20s, prompting residents to bundle up before Sunday brings a wintry mix to the mountains and widespread rain elsewhere.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will remain below seasonal averages, with a partly sunny and calm day expected on Saturday. Highs will hover around 40 degrees across Baltimore, while mountain areas may struggle to reach the mid-30s. Saturday night will bring mostly cloudy skies and lows around 31 degrees, leading into Sunday’s active weather system.
Sunday’s forecast shows precipitation moving in after noon, with rain expected throughout most of the region. However, areas at higher elevations, including Hagerstown and Oakland, may see a mix of rain, sleet, and snow. The wintry mix could create slippery roadways, especially along I-68 and other mountainous routes. Drivers should use caution and plan for slower travel conditions.
Rain will intensify Sunday night, with a 90% chance of showers and lows near 41 degrees in Baltimore. The wet conditions will persist into Monday, with temperatures climbing slightly to a high of 53 degrees but remaining rainy throughout the day.
Looking ahead, Tuesday will bring a brief reprieve, with partly sunny skies and highs near 64 degrees before another round of showers moves in Wednesday. Residents are advised to monitor weather updates and prepare for rapidly changing conditions.
