Maryland – Rainfall is moving into the region today, bringing much-needed moisture to Maryland. The National Weather Service predicts light to moderate showers through the day, with potential accumulation of up to 0.5 inches. Rainfall will primarily affect areas west of I-81 and I-66, with additional chances for higher totals in those areas. The rain is expected to taper off by Friday afternoon, making way for a warm and dry weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, a light wintry mix may also be seen in the high valleys of the Allegheny Highlands early this morning, though most areas will see rain and mild temperatures in the 40s and 50s. Residents should expect showers to linger through early Friday before clearer, breezy conditions set in.
Temperatures on Friday will reach the upper 50s, followed by a sunny Saturday with highs between 53 and 62 degrees. The warming trend continues on Sunday, with temperatures expected to rise to around 65 degrees. Winds will be gusty over the weekend, reaching up to 23 mph on Friday night, potentially affecting visibility for drivers.
Looking ahead, Monday brings sunny conditions and a high of nearly 69 degrees, making it ideal for outdoor activities after a wet start to the week. For those commuting or traveling along I-66 or I-81, it’s advised to monitor road conditions and drive carefully, particularly during today’s rain.
