Little Rock, AR – Unseasonably hot temperatures Thursday will give way to a volatile stretch of storms starting Friday across much of Arkansas, including the Little Rock metro.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, highs in the mid-80s Thursday could pose a heat hazard, especially for those unaccustomed to springtime warmth. Hydration and frequent breaks are strongly advised for those working or spending time outdoors.

Friday afternoon begins a shift toward active and potentially dangerous weather. Scattered thunderstorms will move across southern and central Arkansas, including areas along the I-30 corridor. By Friday night, the chance of severe weather increases with the risk of hail, strong winds, and isolated tornadoes.

Rain and thunderstorms continue into Saturday, with the highest precipitation chances after 1 p.m. Sunday marks the greatest threat, especially in southeastern Arkansas. A cold front will push eastward, bringing the potential for large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes, particularly in the evening hours.
