Little Rock, AR – Scattered thunderstorms and light to moderate rainfall could dampen travel plans across Arkansas this week, with rain chances peaking Wednesday into early Thursday and totals nearing one inch in parts of the state.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, northern and northeastern areas—including Jonesboro, Fayetteville, and Hardy—could see the highest rain probabilities, with chances reaching 70% on Wednesday and 63% by Wednesday night. Rainfall amounts through Monday range from 0.25 to 1 inch, particularly across central and eastern counties like Little Rock, Brinkley, and West Memphis.

In cities such as Fort Smith, Russellville, and Searcy, daily showers may lead to slick roads, especially during commutes. While thunderstorms are possible, the threat for widespread severe weather or flash flooding remains low.

Residents are urged to allow extra travel time, avoid low-lying flood-prone roads, and monitor local alerts. With rain expected nearly each day through the weekend, keeping devices charged and travel flexible will be key.

This unsettled pattern is expected to linger into early next week, though forecasters emphasize that heavy rainfall remains unlikely. Updates will follow if any advisories or storm watches are issued.
