Little Rock, Ark. – After a dry start to the week, Arkansas residents should brace for a stormy turn beginning Wednesday, with parts of the state facing a 60% chance of over 2 inches of rainfall by Friday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, widespread rain is expected to move in midweek, especially across western and northwestern Arkansas. Cities like Harrison and Camden are under elevated risk, with Little Rock, Hot Springs, and Batesville also likely to see frequent showers and possible localized flooding from Wednesday through the weekend.

Rain chances will increase steadily after Tuesday, peaking Thursday and Friday, based on NOAA model guidance. The probability of at least 1 inch of rain is over 50% across central Arkansas and exceeds 60% in some northwest areas. A narrow zone from Fort Smith to Harrison could receive the heaviest totals, with flash flooding possible on already saturated ground.

Drivers should monitor road conditions closely and avoid low-lying areas during periods of heavy rain. Residents are advised to clear drains, charge devices, and stay weather-aware throughout the week.

Rain chances linger into next weekend, and additional advisories may be issued if conditions worsen.
