Little Rock, AR – Bitterly cold temperatures gripped Arkansas on Thursday morning, with readings dipping below zero in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Little Rock, the coldest temperatures were recorded in the Ozark Mountains, where lows reached -6°F in places like Berryville and Highfill. Elsewhere, cities such as Fayetteville and Rogers saw temperatures drop to -5°F. Across central Arkansas, including Little Rock and Pine Bluff, readings hovered in the single digits and low teens.

The frigid conditions follow a winter storm earlier this week that brought snow and sleet to portions of the state. Residents are advised to bundle up and take precautions against the extreme cold, as frostbite and hypothermia remain risks for those exposed for extended periods.
