Little Rock, AR – Arkansas is bracing for extreme heat today, with temperatures reaching the mid-90s and heat index values soaring to over 100 degrees in much of the state, especially along major routes such as I-40 and U.S. Route 67. Meteorologists are urging residents to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities as heat-related illnesses become a significant risk.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, the highest temperatures are expected in northern and central Arkansas, including cities like Little Rock and Fayetteville. A cold front is forecast to sweep in tomorrow, bringing cooler temperatures and a chance for rainstorms, especially in northern and west-central areas. Rain is likely to impact parts of the state along major highways, such as U.S. Route 65.

Sunday night will remain hot, with temperatures dipping only into the upper 70s. Storms will continue Monday, with more rain and lower temperatures expected midweek. Residents should monitor local forecasts for updates and prepare for possible storms and flash flooding tomorrow.
