Little Rock, AR – Arkansas is set to experience a significant heatwave starting Monday, with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 90s. Some locations may even reach the 100-degree mark, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock.

The heat index values are expected to exceed 100 degrees in several areas, posing health risks. The National Weather Service advises residents to take precautions, such as staying hydrated and avoiding prolonged outdoor activities. Despite the high temperatures, a formal heat advisory has not been issued as conditions are slightly below the criteria for such an alert.

The heatwave will affect various parts of the state, including Little Rock, Fayetteville, and Jonesboro. Morning low temperatures will start in the 70s, offering little relief from the heat. By the afternoon, temperatures will peak, creating potentially dangerous conditions for those exposed to the heat for extended periods.
