Little Rock, AR – Torrential downpours have prompted flash flood warnings across more than 20 counties in central and eastern Arkansas Saturday, with up to 14 inches of rainfall reported in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, flash flooding remains a significant threat through 3 p.m. CDT, impacting key regions including Conway, Pine Bluff, Searcy, Camden, and Stuttgart. Radar and automated gauges confirmed rainfall totals between 6 and 14 inches, with multiple creeks, streams, and urban roadways reportedly overwhelmed.

Areas under warning include Pulaski, Jefferson, White, Prairie, Lonoke, Faulkner, and Grant counties, as well as parts of Jackson, Monroe, and Dallas counties. Cities like Arkadelphia, Malvern, Heber Springs, and Des Arc are also facing flood threats, particularly in low-lying or poorly drained zones.

The National Weather Service classified the flash flood damage threat as “considerable,” urging drivers to avoid water-covered roads.

Safety Tips:

  • Never drive through flooded roadways; water may be deeper than it appears.
  • Monitor local alerts and move to higher ground if flooding is nearby.
  • Be cautious at night, when flooding is harder to detect.

Rain is expected to taper later this evening, but runoff and localized flooding may persist into Sunday.
