Little Rock, AR – A cold front is moving through Arkansas today, bringing cooler and drier air across the state. Temperatures will vary from the mid-70s to near 90 degrees, with the highest temperatures expected in southern areas such as De Queen and Texarkana. Cooler air will filter through the state tonight, continuing through Wednesday.
According to the U.S. National Weather Service in Little Rock, no precipitation is expected as the front moves through. The cooler air will be accompanied by a northeasterly flow as high pressure builds over Missouri. This high-pressure system will keep conditions dry across Arkansas, providing relief from the hot, humid weather that has persisted over recent weeks.
Tuesday’s highs will reach the mid-80s in central Arkansas, including Little Rock, while areas in northern Arkansas will see slightly cooler temperatures, ranging from the upper 70s to lower 80s. The cooler air is expected to linger through at least the weekend.
