Little Rock, AR – Arkansas residents are facing another bitterly cold night as temperatures are expected to drop into the teens across the state. Combined with calm winds, wind chills could make it feel even colder, particularly in northern Arkansas. Drivers are advised to stay cautious on secondary and rural roads, as lingering moisture from overnight flurries may freeze in spots.
According to the National Weather Service, highs today will remain below freezing, with Little Rock reaching 28 degrees and lows tonight near 16 degrees. Light snow was reported in parts of the state early Tuesday, leaving some roadways slick. Despite the freezing conditions, no additional snowfall is expected through the evening.
The weather will shift by Wednesday, with sunny skies and highs near 41 degrees in Little Rock, providing some much-needed relief from the cold snap. Southern winds will warm the state further by Thursday, when highs in central Arkansas could climb into the mid-40s.
The extended forecast suggests Arkansas will remain dry through Saturday, with highs reaching the low 50s. However, rain chances return Saturday night, particularly across southern and central Arkansas, impacting travel plans.
Residents are encouraged to dress warmly, monitor local road conditions, and limit outdoor exposure during peak cold hours.
