LITTLE ROCK, AR – Thunderstorms will continue across Arkansas today, bringing the risk of damaging winds, hail, and even isolated tornadoes. Meanwhile, a pattern of dry air and gusty winds is set to increase wildfire dangers in the coming days.

According to the National Weather Service, severe weather remains possible through tonight, particularly in southeastern Arkansas. The strongest storms could bring wind gusts over 60 mph, large hail, and the potential for tornadoes. By Sunday, storms will clear, making way for cooler temperatures and sunny skies.

Monday, which marks St. Patrick’s Day, will be mild with highs in the mid-70s and mostly sunny conditions. However, gusty winds will return Tuesday and Thursday, increasing the fire risk across the state. Residents are urged to use caution when burning debris.

The extended forecast includes:

• Sunday: Mostly sunny, high near 62°F.

• Monday (St. Patrick’s Day): Sunny, high of 74°F.

• Tuesday: Partly sunny, high of 77°F, gusty winds up to 25 mph.

• Wednesday: 20% chance of showers, high of 75°F.

• Thursday: Sunny, high of 62°F.

Arkansans should stay weather-aware and monitor updates, especially for storm activity and potential fire hazards.
