SHREVEPORT, La. – The city wakes under a calm, clear sky this morning, the air still and mild — more reminiscent of early October than mid-November. That late-fall warmth will hold strong through the end of the week before the Ark-La-Tex shifts toward a wetter, more unsettled pattern heading into early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, Thursday will bring patchy morning fog between 7 and 8 a.m., clearing quickly under full sun. Temperatures will climb to around 80°F by afternoon, with light southerly winds returning. Friday and Saturday will both stay dry and unseasonably warm, with highs between 81°F and 83°F — roughly 10 to 12 degrees above normal for mid-November.

Residents should expect excellent weather for travel, outdoor projects, or early holiday decorating through Saturday. However, moisture and instability begin to increase late Sunday as a weak front drifts toward the region. A 20 percent chance of showers appears by Sunday night, climbing to near 40 percent by Monday as the front strengthens.

No severe storms are anticipated, but downpours and brief rumbles of thunder may develop early next week, especially along the I-20 corridor from Longview to Monroe. By Tuesday, lingering showers could keep skies gray and temperatures slightly cooler, dipping into the upper 70s.

The region’s early-winter “flip” still appears delayed, but long-range models hint that colder air could return just before Thanksgiving week. For now, the focus stays on fog safety Thursday morning — reduce speed, use low beams, and allow extra travel time during the early commute.

And while the fading glow of Tuesday’s G4 solar storm has disappeared from the southern sky, minor GPS or signal hiccups may persist — a rare footnote to this unusually warm November stretch.
