Shreveport, Louisiana – Residents across the Ark-La-Tex should prepare for torrential rain and possible flash flooding through Wednesday night, particularly in areas north of Interstate 30.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, a Flood Watch is in effect for northwestern portions of the Four State Region, including Broken Bow, Clarksville, De Queen, Hope, and Texarkana. Rainfall totals of 2 to 3 inches are expected, with isolated spots possibly exceeding 5 inches.

The heaviest rainfall will likely impact low-lying areas and roads near rivers and creeks, increasing the risk for flash flooding. Communities such as Mount Pleasant and Hope could see over an inch of rain by early Thursday. Meanwhile, Shreveport, Longview, and Tyler will see lower totals—generally between 0.25 and 1 inch—but still face thunderstorms and reduced visibility on roadways.

With high temperatures climbing into the low to mid-80s under mostly cloudy skies, the warm, unstable air will help fuel storm development throughout the day. Residents are urged to avoid flooded roads, secure outdoor items, and have multiple ways to receive weather alerts.

Storm activity is expected to taper off by early Thursday, but more advisories may follow if rainfall persists.
