Shreveport, Louisiana – Temperatures across the Ark-La-Tex region will plunge into the 40s and low 50s tonight under clear skies, creating an unseasonably cool end to the weekend before a sharp warmup arrives Monday.
According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, overnight lows will fall to 48°F in Broken Bow, 49°F in Monroe and Hope, and just 47°F in parts of southwest Arkansas. Light winds and dry skies will add to the chill through early Monday morning.
Cities including Shreveport, Natchitoches, and Texarkana are expected to rebound sharply by midday Monday, reaching highs between 78°F and 82°F. Increasing cloud cover from the west will bring a more humid feel to the start of the workweek.
Drivers should be aware of visibility changes during early Monday as cooler morning air meets incoming warmth. Layering is advised for schoolchildren and morning commuters, especially in rural areas where temps will hover near 50°F through sunrise.
This marks one of the region’s more significant May cooldowns in recent years. No rainfall is expected until midweek, but conditions will continue to shift.
Next update will follow if a front or rain chance develops by Tuesday.
