Shreveport, LA — Severe weather is anticipated for Tuesday, impacting residents across the western Ark-La-Tex region, especially near the I-30 corridor. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Shreveport warns of potential damaging winds, thunderstorms, and a 10% chance of tornadoes, urging residents to stay weather-aware throughout the day.

According to the NWS, thunderstorms may develop early Tuesday morning and continue into the evening, with peak intensity in the afternoon. Wind speeds could reach 30 mph or higher, while rainfall accumulation might exceed two inches, leading to localized flooding. The highest threat level sits at 3 out of 5, marking an enhanced risk for damaging conditions, including hail.

Shreveport-area residents should prepare by securing outdoor items, reviewing emergency plans, and ensuring multiple ways to receive warnings. “Stay weather aware and know where your safe place is in the event you need to take shelter,” advises the NWS.

The forecast also highlights continuing storm chances through midweek, with a 40% risk of showers and potential isolated thunderstorms on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday are expected to bring relief, featuring clearer skies and temperatures in the mid-70s.
