Kingman, AZ – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for northwest Arizona, including Kingman, Valentine, and Golden Valley, until 5 p.m. MST Tuesday.
The National Weather Service reports heavy snowfall is expected, with accumulations between 3 and 6 inches above 6,000 feet and 1 to 3 inches above 4,000 feet. Impacted areas include Hualapai Mountain Road, Interstate 40 east of Kingman, and State Route 66 through Peach Springs.
According to the advisory, drivers should plan for icy and snow-covered roads, especially in higher elevations. Motorists are urged to slow down, use caution, and check Arizona’s 511 system for updated road conditions.
Residents in affected areas should prepare for disruptions to travel and consider delaying non-essential trips. This snowstorm is notable for the region, as snow at lower elevations is less common in the Northwest Deserts.
The advisory is set to expire by Tuesday evening as conditions are expected to improve. For more information, visit the National Weather Service website at weather.gov/lasvegas.
