Tucson, AZ – A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 5 a.m. MST Saturday for several mountain regions in southeastern Arizona, including the White Mountains, Catalina and Rincon Mountains, and the Galiuro and Pinaleno Mountains. Snowfall and strong winds are expected to create hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Tucson, snowfall will continue intermittently through the night, with Mt. Lemmon expected to receive an additional 1 to 2 inches of snow. The White Mountains of Graham and Greenlee Counties could see between 2 and 4 more inches. Winds will gust as high as 35 mph, reducing visibility and making travel difficult.

The advisory also extends to the Galiuro and Pinaleno Mountains, including Mount Graham, where another 1 to 2 inches of snow is forecasted. Motorists are urged to use caution, especially during the Friday evening commute, as road conditions may deteriorate rapidly.

Residents and travelers are advised to slow down, allow extra time for travel, and check road conditions before heading out. Up-to-date Arizona road conditions can be found by calling 511 or visiting www.az511.gov.

The advisory is set to expire at 5 a.m. MST Saturday, but lingering snow showers may continue in higher elevations. Stay tuned for further weather updates.
