Flagstaff, AZ – Spring takes hold across northern Arizona starting Sunday, bringing clear skies, warm temperatures, and gusty winds later in the week.

According to the National Weather Service, Flagstaff will begin Sunday under mostly cloudy skies, gradually clearing by afternoon with highs reaching 62°F. Calm winds will shift northeast at 5 to 7 mph before subsiding in the evening. Monday marks a jump to 70°F with full sun, kicking off a warmer, dry pattern expected to last through Friday.

By Tuesday, Flagstaff could see highs near 73°F with light winds, though conditions begin shifting midweek. Starting Wednesday, winds will increase along I-40 and surrounding areas, with gusts peaking up to 31 mph by Thursday afternoon. Drivers should be alert to sudden crosswinds, especially in open areas along the highway corridor.

While no precipitation is forecast, strong afternoon winds midweek may impact travel and outdoor plans. Residents and visitors are encouraged to secure loose objects, avoid outdoor burning, and monitor weather updates.

The five-day outlook promises plenty of sunshine, with daily highs ranging from 60°F to 73°F and overnight lows staying above freezing. Thursday and Friday remain dry, with partly cloudy skies and winds decreasing by Friday evening.

This week’s warmer, dry stretch contrasts sharply with typical late March weather in Flagstaff, offering an early taste of spring. Locals can expect ideal hiking conditions and safe driving weather through Monday, with increased wind hazards midweek.
