Flagstaff, AZ – After another round of unseasonably warm temperatures today, a noticeable cooldown is on the way starting Monday. Northern Arizona will experience a shift in weather, bringing much-needed relief from the heat, along with light rain showers for areas like Flagstaff and parts of the Navajo Nation.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures in the Flagstaff area will reach highs of 85°F in lower elevations today, with mountains expected to peak between 75-85°F. However, a cooling trend will start Monday, bringing highs down to the mid-70s across much of Northern Arizona. Residents should expect mostly cloudy skies and isolated rain showers, particularly in regions near Route 89A and Navajo Nation.

Flagstaff locals should take precautions for the upcoming weather. While Monday’s showers will be light, gusty winds are expected in some areas, making driving conditions less favorable, particularly on mountain roads such as Highway 180. The NWS advises travelers to keep an eye on weather alerts as isolated rain could impact visibility.

Looking ahead, the cooldown will continue throughout the week. Tuesday brings mostly sunny skies with high temperatures near 71°F, followed by a clear night dropping into the upper 30s. Wednesday and Thursday remain cool with highs in the mid-60s to low-70s and breezy conditions expected Thursday, reaching gusts of 28 mph.
