Arizona’s high country is calm and bright this morning, but the quiet will not last long. Sunshine reflects off dry pavement in Flagstaff, where temperatures are already climbing through the 60s under clear skies.
According to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff, a Wind Advisory takes effect Monday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. MST. Southwest winds will increase to 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph across the Little Colorado River Valley, Mogollon Rim, and White Mountains. That includes Flagstaff, St. Johns, Show Low and areas along I-40 and Highway 260.
High-profile vehicles, including RVs and tractor-trailers, may struggle on east-west roadways. Secure patio furniture and loose outdoor items before late morning Monday. Blowing dust is possible in open areas, briefly reducing visibility.
Today stays warm and sunny with highs near 68 degrees. Monday remains mild, topping out near 63 degrees despite the wind. Skies clear again Monday night with lows near 31.
Tuesday and Wednesday settle down with sunshine and lighter winds. Highs reach near 60 Tuesday and 61 Wednesday. By Thursday, temperatures cool slightly to the mid-50s with continued dry conditions.
