Phoenix, Arizona – Triple-digit heat is taking hold across central Arizona today, with Phoenix expected to hit a blistering 113°F by mid-afternoon. The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning until 8 p.m. Tuesday, urging residents to limit outdoor activity and seek shade or cooling shelters.

According to the NWS Phoenix office, temperatures across Maricopa County—including Scottsdale, Glendale, and Mesa—will peak between 111°F and 115°F. Heat-related illness is a serious risk. Symptoms of heat exhaustion can quickly progress to life-threatening heat stroke. Emergency officials recommend calling 2-1-1 to find nearby cooling centers or transportation help.
