Prescott, AZ – An SUV crashed into an Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) snowplow early Tuesday while trying to pass near Prescott. No injuries were reported, but the SUV sustained significant damage. The snowplow had only minor damage.
According to ADOT, more than 100 snowplows cleared highways this week, working to keep roads safe during winter storms. Plows spread de-icer and remove snow and ice before buildup becomes hazardous.
Officials urge drivers to give plows space and follow safety guidelines:
• Never pass a snowplow.
• Stay at least four car lengths behind.
• Slow down and allow extra room for plows.
ADOT warns that passing a plow can result in accidents, as fresh snow and ice create dangerous conditions. Drivers should remain patient and allow plows to operate safely.
Authorities remind the public that snowplows play a critical role in keeping roads clear.
