Tucson, Ariz. – Tucson residents will face dangerously hot temperatures all week as a prolonged heatwave pushes highs into the triple digits, peaking near 109°F by Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Tucson, daily highs will remain above 100°F through the weekend, with Thursday expected to hit 105°F. Overnight lows will stay unseasonably warm, hovering between 70°F and 76°F, offering little overnight relief. Calm winds and clear skies will dominate the forecast, worsening the risk of heat-related illness.

The heatwave will stretch across Pima County, with South Tucson, Casas Adobes, and Marana all seeing temperatures above 100°F each day. Outdoor workers, elderly residents, and those without air conditioning should take extra precautions. Hydration, limiting outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, and checking on vulnerable neighbors are strongly advised.

The National Weather Service warns that elevated fire danger may accompany the heat due to dry air and vegetation. Although no formal heat advisory has been issued yet, officials urge residents to prepare for prolonged exposure.

The extreme heat is expected to continue through at least Sunday night, with no significant cooling trend in sight. Updates will be issued if conditions worsen or new advisories are released.
