Phoenix, Arizona – A dangerous stretch of triple-digit heat settles over the Valley this week, with Phoenix expected to hit a scorching 107°F by Monday afternoon. Drivers and outdoor workers should prepare now, as the National Weather Service warns of prolonged exposure risks and elevated UV index levels through Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Phoenix, a high-pressure system is building over the Southwest, pushing daytime highs to 106°F–107°F Monday through Wednesday. The heat index could rise even higher during afternoon commutes along I-10 and Loop 202, especially between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity, and check on vulnerable neighbors, particularly seniors and those without air conditioning. Cooling centers are operating across Maricopa County and remain open daily until 8 p.m.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the pattern holds steady, with continued clear skies, minimal overnight cooling (lows in the upper 70s to low 80s), and little wind relief. Heat-sensitive industries, including road construction and delivery services, are expected to adjust hours or deploy heat safety protocols.
