Albany, NY – Temperatures are climbing quickly across eastern New York today, with a sharp warmup and gusty winds expected to impact travel and outdoor conditions by Monday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Albany, seasonable but breezy weather will dominate Sunday before a more noticeable warmup arrives Monday. Afternoon highs will rise into the upper 50s to low 60s, including around 62 degrees in Albany, with steady southwest winds adding a chill at times despite the warmer air.

Across the Capital Region, including Schenectady, Troy, and Saratoga Springs, temperatures will rebound from morning lows in the teens and 20s into the 50s and low 60s by Monday afternoon. This rapid swing could lead to shifting road conditions, especially in areas where early-day frost gives way to dry pavement.

Drivers along I-87 and I-90 should remain alert for gusty crosswinds, particularly on elevated stretches and bridges. Residents are encouraged to secure loose outdoor items and dress in layers to adjust to changing conditions throughout the day.

The mild and breezy pattern holds into Monday evening, with additional changes possible by midweek as the next system approaches and could bring renewed precipitation chances.
