Juneau, AK – Hyder, Alaska, is experiencing heavy snowfall under a Winter Storm Warning in effect until 6 a.m. Friday. Storm totals are expected to reach up to 12 inches. A new Winter Storm Watch has been issued from Saturday afternoon through Sunday night, with an additional 10 to 13 inches possible.
The National Weather Service warns that this second storm will bring hazardous travel conditions, especially along the Icy Strait Corridor. Snow may transition to rain by Monday in southern areas.
