Troy, AL – A multi-vehicle crash shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 65 near mile marker 122 Tuesday afternoon.
The crash, which occurred at approximately 12:14 p.m., involved several vehicles and caused major traffic disruptions. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division responded immediately to the scene. According to ALEA, icy conditions contributed to the crash and road closure.
Both lanes remain closed, and officials have not yet determined when traffic will resume. Authorities urge drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. They also warn that road conditions could worsen due to extreme winter weather.
