Birmingham, AL – Rain and morning thunderstorms are tapering off, paving the way for clearer skies and cooler temperatures into Black Friday. Shoppers heading out early should bundle up as lows dip near freezing across northern Alabama.
According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, clouds will gradually decrease tonight, with overnight lows dropping to around 34°F in Birmingham and even colder in northern areas like Jasper and Hamilton. A freeze is expected in those regions, prompting residents to protect outdoor plants and take care of exposed pipes.
Friday will see sunny skies across the state, with highs near 50°F in northern cities and mid-50s closer to Birmingham and Montgomery. Shoppers and travelers along I-65 should expect dry roads but colder conditions, with northwest winds adding to the chill.
Looking ahead, the weekend will remain sunny and dry. Saturday and Sunday will feature highs in the lower 50s with clear skies, making it a great opportunity for outdoor activities. However, overnight lows will plunge into the low 30s and 20s, particularly on Sunday night, marking the coldest temperatures of the season.
Residents are encouraged to dress warmly and stay updated on weather conditions as the cold front continues to move through the region.
