Birmingham, AL – A mix of freezing temperatures and possible showers are in the forecast this weekend, with highs near 50 degrees on Sunday. Alabama residents should prepare for increasing clouds overnight, leading to potential rain and fluctuating temperatures early next week.

According to the National Weather Service, tonight’s low will drop to around 31 degrees under partly cloudy skies. On Sunday, showers are expected after 9 a.m., primarily along the I-65 corridor. Highs will peak near 50 degrees during the afternoon, with light winds from the south. Rain chances will increase Sunday evening, with showers likely after midnight and lows near 38 degrees.

By Monday, expect mostly cloudy skies with temperatures climbing to a high of 54 degrees, offering slight relief from the chilly weekend. Tuesday will bring drier conditions, with partly sunny skies and a high near 58 degrees. However, showers return midweek as a 40% chance of rain is forecasted for Wednesday.

Drivers should exercise caution during periods of reduced visibility due to rain, especially on major roadways like I-20 and I-65. Pedestrians are also encouraged to stay vigilant as freezing temperatures could create slick surfaces overnight.

Residents are advised to dress warmly tonight and prepare for wetter conditions Sunday. For the most up-to-date weather alerts, visit the National Weather Service website or tune in to local updates.
