Birmingham, AL – Unseasonably warm weather will continue across central Alabama through next week, with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s each day, according to the National Weather Service Birmingham. The warm pattern arrives after a brief cool snap earlier in the week and is expected to linger for at least 10–14 days.

According to the NWS, medium to high probabilities of above-normal temperatures will dominate the region from November 18–22, extending the ongoing warm anomaly that has settled across much of the Southeast. Cities including Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery, Gadsden, and Anniston are forecast to see daily high temperatures ranging from the low 70s to low 80s through Friday, November 21.

Forecast data released Friday morning shows Montgomery and Tuscaloosa topping out near 80–81 degrees on several days, while Birmingham holds steady in the 74–77 degree range. Even typically cooler areas such as Hamilton and Jasper are expected to stay well above normal for mid-November.

According to the NWS 6–10 day outlook, Alabama and much of the Southeast fall in the “Above Normal” temperature category, with some regions showing a 60–70% probability of warmer-than-average conditions. The prolonged warm stretch also means drought conditions—already affecting large portions of the state—are likely to continue without significant rainfall in the forecast.

Residents are encouraged to stay alert to changing conditions as the warm pattern persists and to monitor updates from the National Weather Service Birmingham.
