Huntsville, Alabama – Thunderstorms and heavy showers will continue across northern Alabama through Saturday, raising concerns over lightning, gusty winds, and locally heavy rain that could lead to flash flooding and power outages.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, daily chances for thunderstorms will remain elevated through the weekend, with the highest risk occurring during the afternoon and evening hours. Overnight storms are also possible. Highs will range from the mid-70s to low 80s, with lows dipping into the upper 50s to mid-60s.

The region, including Madison, Morgan, and Limestone counties, can expect storm chances between 50% to 80% daily, with Friday and Saturday showing the highest potential for widespread rain. While severe weather is not expected, frequent lightning and gusty winds could still pose travel and safety risks. Localized flooding may also impact low-lying roads and neighborhoods.

Residents are urged to secure outdoor items, keep devices charged in case of outages, and stay weather-aware, especially at night when storms may be harder to detect.

The stormy pattern is expected to taper off by late Saturday. More updates will be issued as new data becomes available.
