Birmingham, Ala. – Temperatures across central Alabama are set to soar into the upper 80s and lower 90s this week, bringing a stretch of summerlike warmth that could peak by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, mostly dry conditions will hold through Tuesday, with a pattern shift bringing low rain chances back into the forecast by Wednesday and Thursday. Widespread highs in the 88°F to 91°F range are expected across cities like Tuscaloosa, Montgomery, and Gadsden from Monday through Thursday.

In Birmingham, temperatures are forecast to climb steadily, reaching 89°F by midweek. Anniston, Selma, and Troy will also flirt with 90°F highs during this stretch. Rain is not expected to be widespread but could affect isolated areas by late Wednesday into Thursday afternoon.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated and limit outdoor work during peak afternoon hours. This marks the first stretch of prolonged warmth for many parts of the state since spring. Looking ahead, rain chances increase again Friday into the weekend, signaling a possible unsettled weather pattern to close out the week.
