Waterloo Residents Warned of Impersonation Scam

Waterloo – The Monroe County Sheriff's Department is urging residents to remain vigilant against a wave of fraudulent phone calls. Officials are warning the public about individuals who are currently targeting the area by impersonating Walmart Support representatives.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Department, callers are reaching out to residents and claiming that unauthorized purchases have been made on their accounts. These individuals are allegedly attempting to deceive victims through these unsolicited communications.

Authorities advise the community to exercise caution when receiving unexpected calls regarding account issues. Residents should independently verify any information provided by callers by contacting official sources directly rather than providing personal or financial details over the phone.
