Video: Curiosity, frustration and antipathy: How kids play with AI toys

A University of Washington study observed 6–11-year-olds playing with AI-enabled plush toys to see how children interact with memory-capable, conversational devices. Kids showed curiosity, frustration and teasing when toys misheard or faltered. Results flag risks—wrong answers, excessive flattery, potential attachment—and offer design and safety lessons for parents and policymakers.
