Lynchburg Double Homicide Investigation Underway Today

Lynchburg, SC – The Sumter County Sheriff's Office has launched a double homicide investigation following the discovery of two deceased adults at a local residence on Wednesday, September 3, 2026.

According to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office, deputies discovered the victims during their response to the residence. Investigators believe the victims knew their killer or killers, though no arrests have been announced as of this time.

Authorities stated that they have identified persons of interest in the case. Officials have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community as the investigation continues.
