Valparaiso, IN – A juvenile was seriously injured after being struck by a motor vehicle in Valparaiso on Wednesday evening. Valparaiso Police responded to the intersection of Valparaiso Street and Monroe Street at approximately 5:40 p.m. following reports of the accident.
According to the Valparaiso Police Department, officers discovered that a juvenile pedestrian had been hit by a car. The Valparaiso Fire Department arrived promptly and began immediate treatment on the scene. The juvenile was then transported to a nearby landing zone and subsequently airlifted to Comer Children’s Hospital by medical helicopter.
Authorities stated that the crash investigation remains ongoing, but charges related to the incident are not expected at this time. Additionally, there is no indication that drugs, alcohol, or excessive speeds contributed to the crash.
