St. Louis, MO – Deadly Shooting at Park Leaves One Dead, Five Injured

St. Louis, MO – A deadly shooting at a downtown St. Louis park early Sunday morning left one man dead and five others injured, sparking a homicide investigation.

Police say officers were nearby when they heard gunshots around 2:30 a.m. at 10th and Market streets. Multiple 911 calls soon followed, reporting the chaos. The victims, all in their early to mid-20s, were transported to local hospitals. One man was pronounced dead on arrival.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident reportedly began with an altercation between women in the park. The fight escalated when men joined in, resulting in gunfire. Authorities recovered one firearm from the scene, but its connection to the shooting is still under investigation.

During the incident, an adult woman was arrested for assaulting an officer. Notably, officers had cleared a group from the same area just hours before the shooting occurred.
