South Dakota Weather: Storms and Cooler Temperatures Expected this Weekend

Sioux Falls, SD – Showers and storms are expected to continue this morning, with new storms possible across northwest Iowa this afternoon, some of which could be severe. Dry and cooler conditions are anticipated for the weekend, according to the US National Weather Service (NWS) in Sioux Falls.

Today’s forecast includes partly sunny skies with storm chances in northwest Iowa and highs ranging from 78 to 86 degrees. Saturday will see partly sunny skies with cooler temperatures between 67 and 76 degrees.

On Sunday, the weather is expected to be mostly sunny, with showers possible late in the day, and highs between 70 and 78 degrees. Showers and storms will return on Monday, with temperatures ranging from 72 to 85 degrees.

According to the NWS, additional storm chances are expected early next week, with showers and storms east of I-29 on Tuesday. Highs will be between 79 and 88 degrees. For the remainder of the week, Wednesday is predicted to be sunny with a high of 79 degrees, while Thursday may see showers with a high of 77 degrees.
