Quad Cities Weather Forecast: Warm Days Ahead, Flood Warning Ongoing

Davenport, IA – Residents of the Quad Cities can expect warm weather over the next few days, according to the National Weather Service, though an ongoing flood warning remains in effect for parts of the region.

Today, the forecast predicts decreasing clouds and humidity, with high temperatures ranging from 79-88°F and lows between 51-58°F. Sunday will bring clear skies and pleasant weather, with highs of 72-76°F and lows of 50-55°F.

On Monday, partly sunny skies are expected during the day, followed by overnight storms. Highs will range from 72-77°F, with lows of 61-66°F. Tuesday is forecasted to have storms, with temperatures reaching highs of 82-91°F and lows of 67-72°F. Wednesday will be partly sunny, with highs between 83-87°F and lows from 54-60°F.

While residents enjoy the warm weather, the National Weather Service has issued an ongoing flood warning for the region. Minor flooding is currently occurring, and major flooding is expected along the Mississippi River by Friday, July 5. The river stage at Rock Island LD15 is currently 15.8 feet, with flood stage set at 15.0 feet. The river is expected to rise to 18.9 feet, impacting several key areas:

•   Sunset Marina Parking Lot: The parking lot in Rock Island will be inundated.
•   River Drive in Moline: Significant flooding is expected from the 2700 to 4800 blocks.
•   Le Claire Park in Davenport: The park will be completely underwater.
•   River Drive from Division to Federal: Most of this stretch will be affected.
•   2nd Street Post Office: Water will reach the base of the loading docks.

The flood warning affects multiple counties in Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri, including Rock Island, Muscatine, Scott, and Clinton. Residents in these areas are urged to take precautions to protect life and property. The National Weather Service emphasizes the importance of avoiding affected areas and following any local emergency instructions.
