Lake County, IL – Lake County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating skeletal remains found near the entrance of Illinois Beach State Park in Beach Park.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the remains were discovered on June 14 after Zion Police received an anonymous tip about human remains near Sheridan Road and Wadsworth Road. The scene was processed for evidence, and the remains were taken by the Lake County Coroner’s Office. The duration the remains have been at the site, as well as the identity, cause, and manner of death, are currently unknown.
The investigation is ongoing by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.
