Tinley Park, IL – Investigators are searching for individuals connected to an early morning fire Friday at the Power House Building on the Tinley Park District Campus, located at 7400 183rd St. The blaze, which had multiple points of origin, has raised suspicions about its cause.

According to the Village of Tinley Park Public Safety, the fire department received the call at 12:16 AM. Firefighters encountered dangerous conditions and poor visibility, prompting them to take a defensive approach. Entry was gained through an unsecured rear door, and a water tanker was used due to the lack of working hydrants on the property.

Security personnel reported seeing three to four individuals fleeing the scene as the fire began. They noted the rear door was unsecured and the perimeter fence had been knocked down, allowing easy access to the building.

The fire, fueled by combustible materials such as paper and wood, required extensive overhaul operations after being extinguished. Authorities are treating the incident as suspicious and are actively seeking information on the individuals observed at the scene.

Residents with any information related to the fire are encouraged to contact local authorities as the investigation continues.
