Tulsa, OK – Dangerous heat is expected across eastern Oklahoma and western central Arkansas, with temperatures soaring into the triple digits. The National Weather Service in Tulsa issued an excessive heat warning for Tuesday, from noon to 9 p.m., as heat indices are expected to reach 110 to 115 degrees.
According to the National Weather Service, residents should take extra precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses. Wearing lightweight, loose-fitting clothing, staying hydrated, and limiting strenuous activities to early morning or evening are recommended. The forecast for Tulsa indicates temperatures will remain extremely high throughout the week. On Tuesday, a high of 101 degrees is expected, followed by 102 degrees on Wednesday and 100 degrees on Thursday. A slight cooldown is anticipated on Friday, with a high of 87 degrees and a 35% chance of rain, before temperatures climb back to 91 degrees on Saturday.
