Clark County, IN – Three Indianapolis men were arrested after leading police on a high-speed pursuit across multiple counties on I-65. The incident began around 5:30 p.m. Friday when Troopers attempted to stop a gray 2019 Chevrolet Silverado for speeding near the 14 mile marker.
According to Indiana State Police, the Silverado initially pulled over but then sped away as officers approached. The pursuit continued north at speeds exceeding 100 mph, with the Silverado exiting and re-entering the interstate at Sellersburg. Officers from multiple agencies joined the chase, deploying Stop Sticks, which the driver managed to avoid several times.
As the pursuit reached Jackson County, the Silverado crossed the median, driving northbound in the southbound lanes before exiting near Columbus. The truck struck another vehicle during the chase but caused only minor damage. Near the 81 mile marker, officers successfully deployed Stop Sticks, bringing the vehicle to a stop.
James Thomas Vinson, 35, the driver, was arrested on multiple felony charges, including alleged vehicle theft and resisting law enforcement. Passengers Cedrick Anthony Gleaves, 29, and Carl Fulmore, 23, were charged with possession of marijuana. All three were taken into custody without further incident. The investigation is ongoing, and charges may be updated.
