Ann Arbor Intersection Crash: Motorist Hits 45-Year-Old Cyclist

Ann Arbor, MI – A bicyclist was critically injured in a collision with a motorist at the intersection of Washtenaw Ave and Huron Pkwy on Friday afternoon.

According to the Ann Arbor Police Department, the incident occurred at 1:00 p.m. The cyclist, a 45-year-old male from Ypsilanti, was crossing Washtenaw Ave. when he was struck by a westbound vehicle driven by a 23-year-old female, also from Ypsilanti.

Officers arrived on the scene along with the Ann Arbor Fire Department and Huron Valley Ambulance to find good Samaritans aiding the injured cyclist. The cyclist was transported to the University of Michigan Emergency Room, where he remains in critical but stable condition.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Police stated that speed and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors in the crash.
